Mens Denver Broncos Von Miller Nike Orange Game JerseyBroncos Jersey In case you didn’t already know, Von Miller is the NFL’s most prominent chicken farmer. He may also be the only one. And even though the Super Bowl MVP says he still consumes the high-protein fowl, his birds aren’t for eating. Why? “They’re more like pets,” Miller said in an interview on “Talk NOW with DeMarcus Ware,” hosted by Broncos teammate DeMarcus Ware, which premiered Monday. According to Miller, he keeps “around 60 birds” on his chicken farm, located in DeSoto, Tex., a suburb of Dallas, and he has named them after teammates, or at least after their numbers. He has a “DeMarcus” after Ware, an “88” after wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, a “95” after defensive end Derek Wolfe. And, of course, a “Peyton Manning.” “They really have personalities. I care for them,” Miller said. “I couldn’t see myself eating not one of them. It’s a special bond between me and my birds.” Miller began farming as a sophomore at Texas A&M, a noted agricultural university, after taking a class in poultry farming, and he got his first flock Patriots jersey five years ago. And this isn’t the first (and, likely, not the last) time Miller has been asked about his chickens. In a 2013 USA Today story: “I raised chicks in college in class and stuff. Now it’s a project for me cheap jerseys to do it on my own, and see where I go with it. I’m pretty excited about it.” To Sports Illustrated in 2015: “I put love into my birds. I can see the logo for my company: me holding the chickens, big smile. The slogan, ‘Happy birds!’ ” In a July interview with ESPN: “I’m very passionate, especially when it comes to humanely raised chickens. I take pride in healthy birds. You got all these other big-time commercial farms that raise, you know, 30,000 birds. Me, it’s a whole lot smaller operation, but it’s a lot of bang for the buck.” His chicks’ names weren’t the only revelations from the segment with Ware.
